Boilerline: Critical Pressure - DevLog #4


Heya!

Welcome back to another update from the team. This week, we've been making some serious headway and I’m stoked to share what everyone’s been up to. 

Adriaan has been deep in art production, focusing on the models that really set the tone for our game. He’s been working on the train, the turrets, and the engine with lots of detailed modeling and texturing. Check out some images of the train model, the turret, and the engine in progress:





Jan has been on a roll with rigging and animation, and he’s taken things even further by experimenting with particles and VFX. His work brings a dynamic feel to our assets—there’s nothing quite like seeing a character or object come to life with fluid motion. I’ve got a few shots to show you what I mean:




All of these are temporary of course, but that doesn't stop them being cute :)

Justin has been cranking out a ton of smaller models and blockouts this week. He’s been busy creating items, tools, trees, rocks, and even designing the player’s HUD and UI. It’s those little details that really help build our world, and his work is a huge part of that. Here's his collection of small models and UI elements:





Meanwhile, Patrick and Seppe have been re-implementing the features to get everything production ready. They’re refining the turrets, upgrading the zombie behaviors, and tightening up the crafting system. There aren’t any images here, but their work under the hood is what’s making our game run smoother than ever.

Gauvin has been hard at work on the sound effects, creating everything from the ambience that shifts between day and night to the train’s rumble and even the eerie sounds of the zombies. His sound design is the final piece that ties the whole experience together, making every in-game action feel impactful.
