Boilerline: Critical Pressure - DevLog #3


This week was our first actual production week, we are all very excited to get this thing off the ground and ship something epic!

Last week we showed how we finished of our prototyping phase, this week we'll tell you about the start of production:

The day-night system is now in working order with dynamic lighting, making the sunsets and sunrises a large part of the game.


Really adds to the feel of the of the game, doesn't it?
Gauvin has created sound ambiences for both day and night time. Also including a transitional sound effect.


Justin has created the cowboy character, focusing on playful and readable design, each player gets a different color hat!
Next up is Jan's turn. Rigging and animating the character. We are very happy with the unique bobbing animations he made, contributing to the design language of the game!


You can also see the train coming together into a large steam powered survival machine, including living quarters.
Also note the character being able to move and look around, thanks Patrick and Seppe!



Justin has also created this cool image showing the controls of the game, very useful!
 

And so the Boilerline keeps rolling :)
